In the spring I ordered two rosemary plants. When they arrived I planted one immediately. I figured even if it died I had a second one. I held onto the second rosemary plant. I didn’t want to lose it. Each day I would think about where I should plant it.
I never found the perfect place. Each area had something wrong. So I kept it in its little pit and I did everything perfectly for it, or so I thought. I controlled the amount of sunlight, wind, and water it got. I held onto it.
Weeks went by and it couldn’t grow any bigger in that pot. The one in the garden was thriving, and the one in the pot was stunted.
I realize I treated my marriage like that potted rosemary plant. I held on too tightly. I tried to force growth my own way instead of giving it to God.
